Hi I'm Justin

I'm 28 years old. I'm a marriage and family therapist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up all over the southwest united states, moving whenever my dad found a new job. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Growing up my family did not have a lot of money, but my parents instilled in me the importance of education. After graduating high school, I completed my associated degree at Rio Salado College in Tempe, AZ. I then studied psychology at Brigham Young University and recently gradated with my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I currently work in Las Vegas as a mental health therapist and love my job. I love watching movies, hanging out with friends and eating!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. While I was young this was the main reason I was a Mormon. As I grew, however, I learned the truth of the Gospel by study and prayer. When I was 16 I decided to take the challenge given at the end of the Book of Mormon (i.e. to ask God if it was true). As I did this I received an answer from the Holy Ghost which came in "a still, small voice" telling me "Justin, you already know it is true". I know this voice was not mine and I cannot deny that this experience happened to me. As a human and mortal I still continue to struggle on a daily basis with various trials and temptations, but I know that without this Gospel that these struggles would be too much for me to overcome on my own. I suppose there is one reason that trumps all others I have given and that is the comfort and peace that is provided me when I go to church, attend the temple and testify of the Gospel. I have pondered what or who I would be without Jesus Christ and His Gospel in my life and the only conclusion I can come to is that I would be lost. I am so happy and blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I know if I am faithful and endure to the end I will find peace and joy in this life and in the life to come. This is why I am Mormon!

How I live my faith

I currently serve in a singles ward in Las Vegas as the Ward Mission Leader. I am learning and growing so much in this calling and working hard every day to live and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As I study my scriptures and pray daily I am coming to better know and love our Savior. This also helps me gain an excitement and knowledge that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the Earth today. I also find that through coming closer to Jesus Christ the Spirit is stronger in my life and this allows me to be guided as I work daily with individuals and families who suffer from mental health and behavior problems.
