Hi I'm Chelsea

I'm a happy fun-loving person that loves to smile. I enjoy making others laugh by telling jokes. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a miracle baby. I am living, breathing proof that the Priesthood works. I was born with a rare genetic disorder called Klippel-Feil Syndrome. I had three holes in my heart and a short neck, but my condition was misdiagnosed. When I was six-months-old, doctors had to perform emergency open heart surgery to mend to holes in my heart. The doctors explained to my parents that I would not live much longer. I was small, weak, and very sick. I was given a Priesthood blessing that I may be healed. I am healthy and happy because the Priesthood works in our everyday life. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me on earth. I have been watched over and received countless blessings to be able to know that there is someone watching over me who loves and cares for me.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in North Las Vegas, Nevada the word "Mormon" was not typically used, as well as "Primary, missionary, and church." Living in an area where I was not surrounded by those of the same faith as me has helped me understand who I am and what I believe. It was great to be in a situation where a lot of my close friends would ask me sincerely about the church and I was able to give them an honest answer. These experiences helped me to show what I believed in to others by the way I spoke and how I acted. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I KNOW that Heavenly Father lives and love me. I know that I will live with Him again as well as those loved ones that we have lost along our journey of righteousness. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel on the earth and translated the Book of Mormon, that we may be able to know and study the truths therein. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet on the earth today. I know that he leads and guides us that we can find peace through his guidance to have the light of Christ in our lives. I know that, as I am set apart as a full time missionary, I will be teaching truth!

How I live my faith

As the time keeps ticking, I note that I will be leaving my home where I will be going on a mission to Tampico, Mexico to serve the Lord for a period of 18 months. During this period of time, I will be able to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to those that have never heard of the Book of Mormon, and explain to them how wonderful this church is. I will be able to share my knowledge about this church that others may come to know of its truthfulness too. While being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I have been given the opportunity to have various callings in the ward. I have been given the opportunity to serve in different callings over the young women presidency and a ward missionary leader. I try to express my beliefs in the way I act. Some of the non-member friends have observed that I, as well as other in the LDS church, have a certain light about them. I have been told that I have a happy or pleasant aura. I know this "aura" is Christ's light that radiates to all those that see it. This light guides my life each and every day and makes up who I am now. I know Christ lives and I will be an example to those around me through this light!
