Hi I'm Mattie

I'm from Provo, Utah. I loving serving others. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 years old and recently returned from serving a full time mission in Scottsdale, Arizona . I graduated from Timpview High School in 2013 and am currently attending BYU Provo. I have played soccer since I was 6 years old and still love the game today! I enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, and anything that has to do with the outdoors. Crafting and creating is a hobby of mine. I love art and photography as well. I have 4 younger siblings and two loving parents who are all still living in Provo, Utah! They are amazing!

Why I am a Mormon

We seem to live in a pretty hectic world, and I have found that being a member of this church brings an immense amount of peace and happiness into my life. The covenants we make with our Heavenly Father will bless us in ways that we can't even begin to imagine. I know that when we keep the commandments and live the gospel the power of God is invited into our lives. I know that the Lord will always be there for us. How great is it to have that assurance that we can always rely on him? And that our faith is always safe in him? Something I've learned and testify of is that if we are doing what we are supposed to, the Lord will take care of the rest. He's here for us and only wants us to succeed. I know we were sent here to be tested, I know that we are being helped along the way. When living the commandments, he will guide us in all we do. I love the plan of salvation and it is such a wonderful thing to know that I can not only be saved, but exalted on high, that I have the chance to live with my family forever and reside with our Savior and Heavenly Father. More than anything the gospel makes me happy, it provides hope. Hope to understand the love and grace of Jesus Christ and hope to know of our purpose here on earth. I do have a testimony of this gospel, and I couldn't be more grateful for it! I don't know who I'd be without it. This is the true church, the very same that Christ established when he was on the earth. Joseph Smith was able to restore this gospel and the priesthood authority that blesses millions of lives today. I know with all my heart that the Book of Mormon is the keystone to our religion. I also know that Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet, who leads and guides the church today. I will continue to build my testimony by exercising faith every day, because being converted to Christ isn't an event, it's a process. I love the way I feel being a member of His church and I love Him, that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Having served a mission I've learned a lot about the gospel and how I can best live it. Of course there are the basics; I say my prayers and read the scriptures daily, I strive to attend all 3 hours of church, and since being home I do my very best to attend the temple each week. I believe a huge part of expressing my faith is having a determination to be an example in righteousness. I have a desire to serve those around me and I still love to share the gospel like I did as a missionary.
