Hi I'm Stacy

I'm a college student. I love sharks. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of five and I love my family with all my heart. I am a college student but I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with my life yet. In my spare time, I love horseback riding and spending time with family and friends - especially if we play card or board games. I also love sharks. I find them fascinating and I enjoy studying them. One day I even want to swim with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be born and raised in the church. However, all through high school, I knew God lived but I lived the rest of my life based on the testimony of my family and others in the church. I did not really have a testimony of my own. My freshman year of college, however, that changed. Trials came up in my life that I would have never thought would ever happen to me. I felt my faith and testimony begin to crumble under the pressure of these hardships. I was slowly pulling away from God and I found myself feeling lost and miserable. After months of what seemed like never ending trials, I was able to hear one of the counselors of the prophet address the church. The subject of his talk was trials. In his talk he stated, "I cannot promise an end to your adversity in this life. I cannot assure you that your trials will seem to you to be only for a moment. One of the characteristics of trials in life is that they seem to make clocks slow down and then appear almost to stop. There are reasons for that. Knowing those reasons may not give much comfort, but it can give you a feeling of patience. Those reasons come from this one fact: in Their perfect love for you, Heavenly Father and the Savior want you fitted to be with Them to live in families forever." When he said this, the Holy Spirit washed over me. It comforted me and testified to me that my Heavenly Father loves me with all his heart and he knew how difficult these trials were for me but I had to be patient because they would not last forever. Now I am grateful for those trials because it brought me closer to my Father in Heaven and gave me an unshakable testimony of the Gospel. I can now truthfully say that I know the church is true and I know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me and love me. I am so grateful to have the knowledge that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and I strive to one day be worthy enough to enter into his kingdom.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through trying to improve little every day things such as daily scripture study and prayers. I also try to not put myself in situations where I will be tempted to compromise my standards. I attend church every week and I love getting to know the people who I go to church with so that I can better serve them and be their friend. Currently, I am also serving a full time mission for the Church. I am called to serve in the Korea Daejeon mission. I couldn't be more excited about teaching the people of Korea. I know my mission call was given through divine revelation and there are people in Korea that I am going to touch. I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity to serve the Lord with all my might mind and strength for 18 months of my life.
