Hi I'm Lauryn

College student, passionate about teaching, preparing for a career in special education. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Omaha Nebraska. Then my sophomore year of high school we moved to Michigan. This was such a hard transition for me. I had so many friends at school and at church that I was having to say goodbye to. It was certainly a test of my faith and I wondered why Heavenly Father wanted my family to move. Now about four years later I can see that that experience of moving as increased my faith and prepared me for harder times ahead. It helped me have faith that in every new transition in my life things would eventually work out and be for my good. I have had so many times where my fast and trust in Heavenly Father grew through the experiences He has allowed me to have. Now I am preparing to marry my best friend and I know that Heavenly Father will be right there with me through this new transition and exciting phase of life.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I have grown up in this church I have never experienced life without the gospel. When I was younger I think that the gospel just became routine to me and I think I took advantage of what a great blessing it was because I had never lived life without it. As I have grown up and I have had to rely on my own feelings and testimony and my own faith in the Savior that has caused me to really think and ponder about things. Conversion is life-long and it is not something that happens in one instance or experience. I become more converted as I build upon my testimony, increase my faith, and try to become more like my Savior Jesus Christ every day of my life. The gospel has brought me so much peace in my life and I know for certain that my life would not be where it is today if I wasn't I member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves me. And I know that through my faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ and submitting to my Heavenly Father's will for me I will be able to find happiness and direction in my life and one day be able to return and live with him. And I know that it is through following the Savior and His gospel that I will be able find lasting peace and have the chance to be with my own family for eternity. That is the greatest gift I could ever think of, to be with my husband and family for eternity.

How I live my faith

As I have grown up in the church I have been able to participate and serve in many aspects of the church. Having these types of leaderships positions has definitely helped me to have faith in the Lord and know that he will provide a way for us to accomplish whatever he asks of us. Also as I have had these opportunities to serve it has allowed me to share my experiences with other people in the community. As they ask questions about the church and the different leadership and service experiences I have had it allows me to be a missionary and through the spirit be able to express that I do certain things because of my faith and love for my Savior Jesus Christ. However, I think that the best way that I live my faith is through the love and kindness that I try to show to others. I want others to be able to feel the love and peace of the Savior through the way I speak and act towards them. The greatest way I think I could ever live my faith is through the way I make others feel and if that leads them to feel the Savior's love for them and want to draw closer to Him.
