Hi I'm Jake

I've lived in Utah my entire life. I love to play Ultimate Frisbee. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always loved to play sports, whether it be soccer, frisbee, snowboarding, wakeboarding, etc. I've lived in Utah my entire life, so I get to snowboard quite a bit. I also love to play guitar, even though I'm not very good. I recently graduated from Alta High School and will be going to BYU sometime in the future to study physics. I've always liked figuring out how things work, so physics is a pretty good match for me. In my spare time, I'm always down to jam with my friends, go on hikes, or just sit around and watch TV.

Why I am a Mormon

There have always been times in my life when I've felt alone and I haven't known what to do. But whenever I've turned to my Heavenly Father for help, I have always been comforted by the Spirit. I know that the Lord has helped me throughout my life, and I've seen the blessings that have come from it. I know that the only way we can experience true happiness is by following the example of our savior Jesus Christ and by learning and living His gospel. I am serving a mission because I know that this gospel will greatly bless the lives of others. I know that God lives and that he loves each and every one of us. I know that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to atone for the sins of all mankind, and that it is only through this atonement that we can return to live with our father in heaven. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, and that he restored the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth in these latter days. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that it truly testifies of Jesus Christ. I know that God continues to call prophets today, and that these prophets receive revelation and lead and guide us in our lives. I know that by living the commandments, we can find true happiness. I am so grateful that I have this gospel in my life, and I cannot wait to share it with the people of El Salvador and Belize!

How I live my faith

I have recently been called to serve as a missionary. I will be serving in the El Salvador San Salvador West/Belize mission, reporting to the Mexico MTC on September 18th. I couldn't be more excited to get out and preach the gospel! I know that serving a mission is God's plan for me, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I have to serve him and to teach His children about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
