Hi I'm Natasha Lewis

I'm 20 years old, recently graduated from High School and I am now serving a mission in San Fernando, CA.

About Me

My name's Natasha Lewis, I have a younger sister named Anastazya Binary Lewis and I live with her, my dad Blaine and my step-mom Sherry. My mother Julia lives in Texas with her husband Paul. My family and I have lived in 6 different states. We've lived in Laramie, WY, Grand Junction, CO, Sterling, VA, Galax, VA, Provo, UT, Claremore, OK, and lastly Wyoming, MI. I graduated high school May of 2013. I am serving a mission in San Fernando, CA and I started my mission August 28th of 2013. I am going to BYU Idaho when I return home from California in March of 2015. I love to draw, paint, and sculpt. Any type of art or anything that takes creativity sparks my interest!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my parents raised me in the church. My parents weren't always active in the church. I started attending church by myself when I was 12. My parents divorced when I was 13 and my grandma came to live with my dad, sister, and I. During this time I chose to be baptized. It wasn't until a year down the road until my dad met my step-mom and she soon afterwards became a member of the church. Ever since then my family and I have been active in the church. The Gospel is the only constant thing in my life and it has never failed me. When everything else around me is chaos the gospel has been my anchor, my rock. I've gained my testimony through my mistakes and it wasn't until I was able to overcome them did I see the Lord's plan for me. I know the only way for me to gain happiness is through the Savior and obedience to the Lord. I know the church is true and even though the people in it aren't perfect the gospel is perfect. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and he received revelation to translate The Book of Mormon. I know The Book of Mormon is true and the scriptures are a sign of the Lord's love for us. I know the scriptures are true and bless our lives. I know the Prophet Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet for us in these latter-days and him and his apostles are guided through our Heavenly Father. I know families can be together forever. I know I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and I have a divine purpose. I know the Savior lives and His Atonement is real.

How I live my faith

I have always been active in my youth groups in church. I was called to be the Young Women's President so I organized all of the activities and made sure the young women were involved. I was always encouraging to the young women and would reach out to those that didn't come and invite them to come. I really enjoyed helping the young women discover their individual worth and help them build their relationship with Christ. In high school I was involved in National Honors Society so I had plenty of opportunities to take part in service. Any opportunity I have to share my faith with others is important to me. It is exciting to share this because the happiness I have from living Christ's teachings are meant to be shared, we all walk in this life looking for success, joy, love, peace... Our inner spirits, the light of Christ within us all is what draws us near to the truth. I seek to fulfill God's purpose, to bring as many of His children back to Him to find His truth, His plan of happiness. Why I do this, because of Christ's Atonement. I do this because the gospel gives me hope and I know that Heavenly Father loves me, and especially you! As you can see the most important things to a Mormon is service. The Lord has said: "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." -Mosiah 2:17. I love that scripture. I've always loved to serve others and I know that the Lord blesses me in doing so.
