Hi I'm Nobuyuki Ikeda

I was born and raised in Japan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born to a good family and raised my entire life in Japan. I was 16 years old when I first met Mormon people. I home stayed in Utah for 3 weeks. I met missionaries from the church a year after I home stayed and I talked to them because I had such a great impression about the people from the church. I kept in contact with my host family and my friends I made in Utah. It took me 3 years, but I got baptized when I was 20. I finished medical school in Japan and worked there for 2 years and I am currently serving my full time mission for the church in Toronto, Canada!

Why I am a Mormon

When I started going to the church learning about the gospel from missionaries, I simply wanted to be a better person. That is still the same and it is my all time goal, but the more I learned about the gospel and practiced my faith in it, the more blessing started to come into my life. I gained a lot of knowledge that I didn't know before I taking lessons with missionaries and came to know where I come from, what the purpose of my life here on earth and where I go after I die and the way I can gain happiness here on earth. I have had my personal conviction where I came to know that this gospel is true. It started to brighten my life through the gospel of the church and it still does know. A guy who didn't know anything about Christianity let alone Mormonism 10 years ago can say with strong emphasis that the church and the gospel are true and they are one of my biggest identies I have. Now it is my turn now to share this wonderful message to those who don't know about them!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by just being natural and not too pushy about my belief. All of my families, good friends and co-workers were non-members of the church. I tried my best to set good examples to them as well as whenever they asked me about church, I tried my best to answer their questions as simple as I can. There were some tough situations for me such as had to work on Sundays instead of going to the church or social drinking situations. Whenever I had those situations, my family and my friends all respected what I believe and they showed great respect toward me. I feel I am blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful people and I am very sure that God has put those amazing people around me, which I cannot thankful for.
