Hi I'm Ethan Watkins

I grew up in Vernal Utah, volunteered with the North East special Olympics teams, and Scout camps.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm in Vernal with my five sisters and two brothers. I'm six foot six, and didn't play basketball, or volley ball in high school, which answers the first three questions almost everyone asks me. I love scouting, am an eagle scout, and volunteered several summers to help teach at scout camps. I also love camping and being outdoors. Many of my favorite memories come from my family camping trips, and getting the opportunity to fish and explore with my dad and older brother. I love few things more than being out in the mountains. I also volunteered to help the Special Olympics teams in North East Utah, and love the wonderful sweet spirited people that I've met there. I love learning. Science and the natural world fascinates me, and I love learning about and observing God's creations from the vastness of space and the stars, to the little bugs and plants in the front yard. I survived a bone disease called fibrous dysplasia, had a quarter of my skull removed, and reconstructed, and now have an awesome lightning scar across the top of my head. And as a result of being exposed to the world of radiology, I'm currently pursuing an education to enter that field. I served as a missionary in the Pittsburgh PA mission, and have come to love Pennsylvania Dutch food and the wonderful people of Pennsylvania. It really was the best two years of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon, and prayed to know if it was true. The holy ghost confirmed it to me.

How I live my faith

I serve others, and served a mission for God. I mostly just do my best to do what God wants me to.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Ethan Watkins
No. Joseph Smith was a man and not God, so we do NOT worship him. He was called as a prophet, and we respect him for what he did in God's service. Like every other prophet of God, Joseph Smith taught us to believe in Jesus Christ and strive to live the way Christ taught us to live. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Ethan Watkins
Missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints share the gospel because they know it's true, and they want to share it with all who will listen. They do it because they love Christ and their fellow man and want to help their brothers and sisters come unto Christ and his restored Gospel. They have found something wonderful, and want to share it with the world. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?
