Hi I'm Chris Hunsaker

Born in Thailand, raised in Illinois, love playing basketball, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I came to the United States when I was about 6 months old. I've lived and grown up in Illinois for most of my life. I have one older sister and two younger brothers. I am currently serving in the #1 mission in the world, the Arizona Phoenix Mission. I just graduated high school in the summer of 2013. I enjoy playing any kind of sport. I mainly play baseball and basketball. When I'm older, I want to become a coach and teach special ed. I enjoy teaching others and giving service to those in need of it. As I do this, I strongly believe that I will learn from those I serve and help. I've been a member of this church all my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is the perfect and everlasting truth restored to this earth today. People in the church are not perfect, but the gospel is. Regardless, I want to do everything possible to build up his kingdom on earth. I have seen countless times in my life where the Holy Ghost has helped me Choose The Right. He Comforts me, Teaches me, and helps me Remember. Also, through prayer he has guided me in some of the toughest decisions in my life. I have grown up watching my parents live their faith through their righteous example. By desiring to live the standards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I have experienced myself BECOME the best person I can be, rather than just DO what I was being told to do. I am extremely grateful for being a member of this church and know that this gospel is true!!

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith right now is by being a missionary and disciple of Christ! Before my mission, I would actively participate in youth programs and activities. At least 2-3 times a week I would be affiliated with my church and youth programs. Also during my four years of high school, everyday I would go to early morning seminary. During these four years, we studied the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants. I also had two awesome seminary teachers! I would say that I wasn't too hyped for all of these church programs/activities early in my teens. But the more I participated in my church callings, activities, and seminary, I saw the true blessings flow in unto me and became truly converted to this gospel! I have seen how my leaders and teachers in the church have helped me gain a testimony of this church. That is why I want to return the favor to others; whether it's on my mission or in my career by being an example and sharing my faith! My ultimate faith is in Jesus Christ. The way I can live that faith now is by constantly striving to develop those perfect Christ-like attributes. With the guidance, power, and love of our Heavenly Father, I know that my vision can be accomplished!
