Hi I'm Lauren

I'm a student. I'm a daughter and a sister. I'm a missionary in the Korean Seoul South mission. I love being a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in the Korea Seoul South mission. I love sharing the gospel in the Korean language- it is such a beautiful language! Previously, I was a student at the University of Utah where I am planning on studying some combination of History, Anthropology, Environmental and Sustainability studies, and Religious studies- though I'm not quite sure how yet. I love learning about many things, but above all religion is my favorite subject! I also love to hike and camp and be in the mountains because that is where I feel closest to God.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was eight years old and have been a Mormon ever since. It wasn't, however, until I was eighteen and had read the Book of Mormon all the way through when I realized what that fully meant to me. The question in 2 Nephi 31:10 sticks out clearly to me: ". . . can we follow Jesus save we shall be willing to keep the commandments of the Father?" In other words, can I truly consider myself a disciple of Christ, a "Mormon," if I am not willing to follow the teachings of Christ with all my heart? I know I cannot if I'm not sincere in my desire. I know I have to have true faith in God and give my best effort to Him in order to fulfill the covenant I made when I was baptized. "And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons, and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters" (Mosiah 5:7).

How I live my faith

Living the gospel of Jesus Christ is lifestyle- it's a daily habit of living and one that I'm still figuring out. As a disciple of Christ, I try to see others the way He would see them. I love and serve and help those around me. I also try to keep myself in balance by reading the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants on a daily basis as well as praying throughout the day. I go to church every Sunday, and I try to visit the temple once every week. I know that I am living righteously and faithfully when I can feel within myself a pure love for God and all people around me.
