Hi I'm David

I live in North Carolina, married for 21 years with 3 boys and one grandson. Work at a furniture showroom and I be a mormon.

About Me

I love the Washington Redskins, Star Trek, comic book movies, scf fi movies, love movies in general, college basketball, old tv shows like The Six Million Dollar Man, Wild Wild West and Get Smart. Huge Elvis Presley fan since I was 8 or 9 years old. I work in a furniture showroom. I love pizza, diet coke, sugar babies, decorating my yard with all kinds of Christmas decorations and hanging out with my friends having cookouts. I like to collect the Christmas Budweiser steins, I have all of them from 1980, the whole collection!!! Been married for over 20 years. My wife and I new each other for only a couple of months before we got married and we have been doing great ever since. We have three boys and one grandson we get to enjoy on a regular basis. I have 3 wives, just kidding, I only have one. It is all I can do to keep up with her!!! We met at American Express. I enjoy a lot of today's TV shows, Simpsons, Family Guy, Modern Family, The Middle, 24, Last Man Standing and Granite Flats. Thank goodness for DVRs!!!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 13, I went to a church and in Sunday school the minister said that all we had was the bible to guide and direct us and there was no more communication from our Heavenly Father and Savior. This did not set right with me. A Savior who loves us is no longer going to communicate with us did not make sense to me. This really bothered me. I began to lay in bed at night and think about this and how it bothered me. I began to ask if this was right in my prayers. The next thing I know the missionaries from the church showed up and began talking about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth, with a prophet that leads the Restored Gospel under the direction of Jesus Christ. This made so much sense, His church was on the earth just like it was when He was on the earth. They were able to answer so many questions about life, where we came from, why we are here and that families can be together forever, not only on this earth but in the next life as well. The more I learned and studied with an open heart and mind, the more I learned and grew. Still learning and growing today.

How I live my faith

I like to participate in our neighborhood watch meetings/program so I can get to know our neighbors, help organize neighborhood yard sales and our national night out. I visit members of our church on a regular basis so I can get to know them and help them when they need assistance in different things. I have had the chance to teach the young kids, youth and adults. I served a mission in Utah, of all places. I have organized our Christmas breakfast for several years which is always fun. I attended a four year scripture study. My sons are now going to an early morning bible study. I enjoy going to church on Sunday and giving talks when I can.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

They let us decide who we vote for and do not endorse any party. There were mormons who did not vote for Romney and that is fine. Show more Show less
