Hi I'm Jake Gossner

I was born in California, but grew up in Utah. I sing, act, and dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music, particularly musical theatre, and was heavily involved in it back in high school. I currently work as a landscaper/handyman, which I enjoy immensely. When I return from serving my mission to Morristown New Jersey, I will attend BYU, but I don't know what my major will be yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I truly believe that this is the true church. Over the years, I've had my share of trials, and sometimes I've asked God why He would allow me to have the challenges that I have had. However, as I have continued to do what I know is right, even when it is hard, He has blessed me to feel the peace that comes from living a life that is acceptable to Him. There have been times in my life that I have tried to walk away from this gospel, but the further I get from its teachings, the greater unease I feel. As soon as I change my ways, I've felt the Spirit testifying that this is the truth. I know that God, our Heavenly Father, lives, and that he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die and live for me so that one day I can return to live with Him again. I know that this church is directed by a living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, and I know that he receives revelation from God on how to direct His church. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that those who read it who honestly want to know of its truth will find out for themselves, as I have, that it is true. So, please, read the book.

How I live my faith

I currently don't have an official calling in the church aside from home teacher, but I have served as president of several groups and assisted in others. Because I have been so involved in the youth program, the bishop has asked me to continue reaching out to those in my area who are less active in the church. Even if he hadn't asked me to, however, I would have reached out because over the years I've grown to really care about the people who I serve. For this reason, I invite my friends to all sorts of activities and gatherings, and give them rides if they ever need them.
