Hi I'm Hayden Witt

I love music. I try to play as many instruments as I can. Music is a spiritual experience for me. I'm a mormon. =)

About Me

I love to listen to music and I love to play music. I love the way that it can evoke so much emotion, even when there are no words. It's one of my favorite gifts from god, along with the atonement of course. I was diagnosed with cancer last year and received chemotherapy at Primary Children's. It was an experience that completely changed my life. I was scared at first, but I received comfort from my family and the holy ghost. I know that God has a plan for me and that getting cancer was part of the plan. That whole experience opened up my eyes and gave me a clearer view on everything and put my life onto the track that it's supposed to be on. I know that I had angels watching me the whole time. Anyways, I'm cured now and I received a mission call to serve in Sacramento California speaking Hmong. I had never heard of Hmong, but thanks to the internet I was able to do some research and find out more about the wonderful Hmong people. That is the main gist.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm mormon because I see the hand of God in everything, even the bad stuff. There was a time in my life when I was inactive in the church for about 2 years, but not because I wanted to. I had recently moved in with my dad and the new ward was slow to warm up to me. I attended seminary classes at school and read scriptures, but I still felt like there was something missing in my life. I got down on my knees one night and prayed to my Heavenly Father. I asked him to help me get back into church and to have someone help me. Sure enough that next day the bishop and the priest quorum advisor decided to come over and asked me to go to the upcoming trek and possibly start coming to church. I jumped on it and I knew that it was no coincidence. Now I'm fully active again. I don't regret what happened though, because it gave me a chance to find the church on my own. I learned that you can be taught the religious side of the church, but you can't be taught the spiritual side. That is something that you have to find on your own by opening your heart and allowing yourself to be surrounded by the spirit.

How I live my faith

I love going to church every sunday because it is 3 hours out of the week where I don't have to worry about anything. It really feels like my soul is being healed. I currently have no callings in the church right now because I'm preparing on going on a mission, but I have had leadership callings in the youth groups and it was a lot of fun for me. I love the way the church functions because I feel like it is one giant family and I always feel so much support from those people that are around me. I'm thankful for the teachings that church teaches. There are many people that think that those rules restrict their life, I have even thought that before. Really those teachings enable us. They allow to reach our full potential in our earthly life.
