Hi I'm Julie

I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, IT Specialist, graduate student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a large family and grew up in the country. I have wonderful parents who taught me to work hard, be honest, and serve others from watching their example. I've tried to carry on that legacy with my own children and grandchildren. Family is very important to me! I didn't start my career until I was almost 30 yrs old because I wanted my children to learn about the world from me. Starting that late in life was difficult, but it was so worth it to spend those precious formative years with my children! I have been blessed with a good job now that allows me take care of my family and to help others as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I've already mentioned how important family is and the Plan of Happiness just makes sense! I love the Gospel and Jesus Christ and am so grateful for the knowledge, joy and peace it brings to my life!!! I was raised in the church but fell inactive later when my spouse distanced himself from the anything to do with the church. After a bitter divorce, I became angry. I had been a stay-at-home mom and struggled to get on my feet. I would have gotten the help I so desperately needed if I had called upon the Lord, but I didn't. Those were very dark and difficult times, but my parents, siblings and true friends never gave up on me and their prayers and love helped me see the light. I was missing the light of the Gospel and now I can't imagine my life without it! The world has gone crazy. There is so much bad all around us it's easy to dispare and become depressed. The Gospel is a refuge from the craziness and can bring peace and even happiness to those who seek the Light of the World, the Prince of Peace, our Savior and Redeemer -- Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have worked with the youth at church for the past four years. I was a Cubmaster and now work with the 14-15 yr old girls. Youth today face challenges I didn't have to deal with and I pray that I can be a positive influence in the young lives I touch. I believe our actions speak louder than our words so I try to keep that in mind with everything I do. I also look for opportunities to serve others, even if it's just opening a door or sharing a smile. I've had coworkers tell me I'm the happiest person they know! This doesn't mean that I don't have trials like everyone else. I have had many stumbles and falls on my journey through this life. But my faith in my loving Heavenly Father and my savior, Jesus Christ, helps me pick myself up, dust myself off and keep going. They often send angels (in the form of family members and friends) to lift me when I struggle. Yet when I look at my life, I see all the blessings I've received and can't help but be happy!
