Hi I'm Ashlee Carroll

Life is great! I love my family and I really LOVE to play and listen to good music, to cook, read, play racquetball, and hike!

About Me

I really love being with my family. I may be a little partial, but I think they are the coolest! I have so many wonderful friends and am grateful to know them and learn from them all :) I recently graduated from Brigham Young University. While attending BYU, I had the privilege of participating in the BYU International Folk Music Ensemble. I played the fiddle and toured with this group for 3 years, traveling and performing in parts of China, Eastern Europe and throughout the West and Midwestern States. This was one of the greatest highlights to be apart of this group and learn so much from traveling the world with them. I love listening to good music and wish I could learn every string instrument that was ever invented :) I recently received a call to serve a full-time mission in Madrid, Spain! I am thrilled to be serving a mission to share the message of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ with those that I serve (before, during and after my mission)!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored Gospel of Christ on the earth. It is the same Gospel that Christ himself brought to the earth during His ministry. Joseph Smith was called by our Heavenly Father to be the prophet of this final dispensation, and through him, we have the Book of Mormon, an ancient record kept and written by prophets throughout the dispensations of time. This book has been saved and prepared to come forth, to be translated by Joseph Smith, during this final dispensation. Isn't that AMAZING!!! I know that there is no other book that can help us draw closer to our Father in Heaven. It testifies of our Savior's redeeming and healing power through His Atonement. I know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are sacred, holy books that, when studied together, help us gain greater understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that our Savior, Jesus Christ, overcame the world and made it possible for us to return to live with him again. I know that since the time of Joseph Smith, God has called prophets to lead and direct his church on the earth. God speaks to his children today through direction from His Prophets, His scriptures, and through personal revelation to us individually. The Holy Ghost testifies this truth to our hearts and we all have the sacred opportunity to receive personal revelation if we will humble ourselves and open our hearts to His Spirit. I am a member of the Church because the Spirit has testified to me that these things are true. I know that our Father in Heaven knows each of us and loves us tremendously. He blesses us daily and if we will open our hearts to His word, we will see the blessings and tender mercies that he pours out to us. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and know that this is His Church and Gospel on the earth today!

How I live my faith

I am currently a Sunday School teacher and have the privilege of teaching the young single adults in my ward at church. I also have the opportunity to get to know other women in my ward as I visit teach them. We all need each other and visiting teaching has given me opportunities to serve and get to know the other sisters in my ward on a more personal level. It has taught me the importance of being self-less with my time and has taught me to be more genuine and Christ-like in everything I do. I hope that I can personally nurture the pure love of Christ and be more thoughtful of those around me as I continue to learn and serve others in this life.
