Hi I'm Kourtney Howard

I am 22 years old. I attend BYU-Idaho, studying marriage and family. I served my mission in the England Leeds Mission.

About Me

Hiya, you alright?! My name is Kourtney and I am currently serving a mission. I am serving in the England Leeds Mission. My mission has been the best time of my life. I love to serve the Lord. I love food. I am a food-a-holic. well let me rephrase i love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I am an aunt of 10. and my nieces and nephews mean everything to me. I love to be quirky and unique. I love photography, rollercoasters, sunshine and thunderstorms. I study at Brigham Young University-Idaho and im planning to be a professional Genealogist.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but that's not the reason I stayed. I knew that without the church I would be lost. There were times in my life that I had fallen away for a while but because I knew that I wasn't happy I changed for the better. I returned to church and my life changed for the better. I found out that the church was true through my own prayers, and scripture study, Not through my parents. Yes their testimony strengthened mine but it wasn't because of them that I believed. I love the gospel with all my heart and I truly don't know where I would be without it. It has impacted my life for the better. And because of my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ I am going to be sharing the Gospel with the people in England. Being a Mormon in today's society isn't easy, we are judged quickly by others. I have experienced a lot of this judgement but because of my faith, prayers and service to the Lord I have been blessed to overcome those trials.

How I live my faith

I am very active in the church's family history program. I feel that it is a divine calling to find out who your ancestors are and where you come from. I teach my singles branch how to do family history. I attend my sacrament meetings and go to institute when I am not working. How I live my faith is different from others. No one is the same we are all different. I have faith in everything I believe. I know that through faith the Lord will bless us. I love reading my scriptures and praying to my Heavenly Father. I know that by talking to him frequently I have been blessed. Keeping the commandments and living by the standards I have set for myself is hard in today's world. But I know that because I am praying and asking for the Lords help that he is blessing me.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Kourtney Howard
The Atonement is an amazing blessing that we have in the palms of our own hands. Anyone can access the Atonement of Christ. It includes the events of Jesus Christ suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, Christ dying on the cross, and the Resurrection. The power of the atonement allows us to feel of peace and joy and happiness as we go through the hard times in our lives, the challenging, the sad. It is also through applying the Atonement that we are forgiven of our sins after proper baptism and partaking of the sacrament. The Atonement is essential to rely on in our lives. It is the best gift we have been given. The Atonement wouldn't of been possible with out the sacrafice Jesus Christ offered. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Kourtney Howard
A Testimony is literally what you believe in. It is individual to anyone and everyone. We all have our own experiences that help us to know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are there, the experiences turn into a testimony that they love us and are there for each of us. It doesn't matter how big or small your testimony is, it is unique to you and no one will have the same testimony. they are all individual. Show more Show less
