Hi I'm Parker

I speak Hmong. I love rugby, football, and snow skiing! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am right now serving a Mission for the Church in the Fresno Hmong Speaking Mission. I am an 20 year old missionary that is a part of this wonderful new flood of missionaries. I graduated from high school six days before I came out on my mission. In high school, I played football, basketball, and Rugby! I was also a Student Body Officer for Olympus High School in Holladay Utah! Go Titans and Go UTES!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I have developed my own testimony of the scriptures and prayer through the seminary program! Seminary taught me about the importance of the gospel in our lives and helped me know that this church is true! In the 9th grade, we as a class decided to read the entire Book of Mormon. Through faith and diligence, I finished the Book of Mormon and developed a testimony of it. Because of this, I know for certain that the Book of Mormon is true. No... there was no angel that dropped out of Heaven to teach me of it's truth, BUT I know that it is true through the feelings that I experienced as I read it. When I finished the book, all that came to me was a simple smile and a warm feeling in my heart. This is the way that the Holy Spirit works and this is the way that we can discover for ourselves of its truth!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving the Lord as a missionary of this great church! I love to teach people and I hope that through my willingness to serve so soon after high school, the Lord will help me bless the lives of the Hmong people! Before my mission, I had NO CLUE who the Hmong people were... but now that I have been on my mission for a little while, I understand the true reason why the Lord chose me for these people. I know that I am being used as a tool in the Lord's hands to help these wonderful people develop faith in Christ. By being Worthy, Obedient, Committed, and Focused I have helped these people come unto a knowledge of their father in Heaven as well. These amazing Hmong people come from a non-Christian background, but as I focus myself on bearing testimony of Christ to these people, they recognize that Christ fills a gap in their hearts that they didn't know they had. Christ has filled that gap in my heart and because of it, I am changed.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

We live to the best of our abilities. We love one another. We respect one another. Through the great example of Jesus Christ, we know how to act and we know how to treat our fellow family, friends, and neighbors! The Lord gave us commandments... we follow those commandments not because we have to, but because we want to! We want to live with our families in peace and harmony for eternity, so we treat everyone on an eternal perspective! "Love of God, Love of Self, and Love of Fellow Man!" Show more Show less
