Hi I'm Bryson Smith

I was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. I am the youngest of 5. I love tennis and many other sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pretty normal guy. I love to play all kind of sports like basketball, football, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, soccer, golf, bowling and ping pong, but my favorite is definitely tennis. I have a pretty athletic family, so sports have been a big part of my life and i enjoy nearly all of them. I graduated high school this last year with a 3.7 GPA, and with highest honors. I love hanging out with friends and family doing just about anything. We play a lot of the sports listed above, especially basketball, tennis, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee. We have bonfires and pool parties sometimes, and pretty much just like to have fun with each other.

Why I am a Mormon

I, like i said earlier, was born into this church and have grown up learning its teachings. I feel though, that until i was about 16, all i learned was just really great stories that i believed in and i always accepted everything about the gospel. But sometime around then, i decided to really try and find out for myself and read the Book of Mormon by myself all the way. This experience changed my life. I truly gained a testimony of the book, as well as all of the teachings of this church. I could see myself always wanting to do better after this and finding more joy in all that i did. I also gained a testimony of the power of prayer. I know that God wants us to talk to him through prayer, and he will answer the things that we ask him. I know that he sent his son Jesus Christ to this earth to be an example for all of us, and to suffer and die for all of our sins. The only way back to live with our Father in Heaven is by believing in his son and the sacrifice he made, by repenting of all of the sins that we have done, and by being baptized by the proper Priesthood authority of God. I know that the gospel Jesus Christ set up on the earth has been restored and is now again on the earth today. I know that it was through Joseph Smith that it was restored and that he was the first prophet in these latter days. I know that Thomas S. Monson is now the living prophet, and holds the Priesthood keys needed to receive direct revelation from God that will help us.

How I live my faith

I am an very active member of my church. I have been a member my whole life and been in the same ward for 12 years, so i was able to get to know just about everyone in it. I made many friends in my church and often would hang out with them. I also went to Seminary during my 4 years of high school, which helped me to understand this gospel better, as well as make many more friends while doing so. I would go home teaching every month with my dad and we were able to learn so much from the people we taught. We had three couples that are all strong in the church, so i felt as though i would learn the most when i was the one that was supposed to be teaching! I have attended mutual since i have been 12 and have really enjoyed getting to know the other youth as well as the leaders. I read the Book of Mormon everyday and say my prayers night and morning, as well as any time needed in between! I have had the chance to now be called as a full time missionary for 2 years. I am very exited about the call to serve and hope to be able to let many others know about this great gospel of Jesus Christ.
