Hi I'm Kaelin

I have lived in North Carolina for most of my life. I'm a psychology major and a music lover. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a student at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, studying psychology. My goal is to be a clinical child psychologist, and I can't wait until the day when I'm actually working with patients and improving the lives of struggling children and their families. I love music. I played the piano and clarinet throughout high school and I know a few chords on the guitar. I also taught piano lessons for three years before attending college.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, first and foremost, because it makes me happy. I have so much peace in my life because of this gospel. My faith has helped me grow so close to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and understand their love for me. I have come to trust in them completely, and I know that they can help me overcome any trials and heartaches I have in this life. I also love this gospel because of what it teaches about families. I know that families can be together forever. I have lost all four of my grandparents and two aunts due to cancer and other illnesses, but I know that I will see all of them again after this life. I am so grateful for my parents and three younger brothers, and I know that we are close because we consistently pray and read scriptures together. Finally, I know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He died for me and suffered all of my sins and pains. It is by His grace that I am saved. I know that as I put my trust in Him, He will uplift, strengthen, and ultimately change me into the best type of person I can be, and for that, I am so, so grateful.

How I live my faith

I've had so many different callings in the church, most of which only lasted a few months, but each one helped me to serve others and grow in various ways. When I was 16 I conducted the music for sacrament meeting, our main worship service. When I was 18 I was a family history consultant and learned how to help others discover and learn about their ancestors. In my young single adult ward at BYU I taught Sunday School lessons. Currently, after a brief stint of helping teach a rambunctious group of 3 and 4-year-olds that we call "sunbeams," I am now serving as a ward missionary, working with the missionaries and ward leaders to help share the gospel in our area until I can leave to serve an 18 month Spanish-speaking mission in San Bernardino, California.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Kaelin
We need a Savior because we are human, and by nature we sin and make mistakes. Since no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of our Heavenly Father, we needed someone who could save us by paying the price and suffering the eternal consequences of our sins. Jesus Christ did that for us. Because He did that, we can now be forgiven of our sins through sincere repentance. We repent when we turn our lives over to Him and strive every day to change and to become a better person. Ultimately, if we have repented of our sins and become the best person we can be through the grace of Christ, we can live with our loving Heavenly Father again. Show more Show less
