Hi I'm Danielle

I'm from a small town in Idaho. I love playing sports and painting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is everything to me. I come from a divorced family, but I love both my parents very much. It has not always been easy, but I have become so much closer to my sibling because of some of the hard times, and that has been a blessing. I have three sisters and one brother. My dad remarried so I also have two step sisters, three step brothers, and one half sister. There are 11 kids in total! Big family! I just recently graduated from high school. I loved playing sports. I participated in volleyball, basketball, and softball. I also love to learn. Spanish was my favorite subject! I took three years of classes in high school and found it so interesting. It seemed to come really fast, and I have been doing a lot to improve it on my own time. I love to draw and paint. I love reading and writing. I am not quite sure what I would like to do for a living. Right now I am preparing to go on a mission, and after my mission I have plans to go to college at BYU. The medical practices fascinate me. I used to want to become a pediatrician, but now I'm not so sure. I have also thought about becoming an elementary teacher. All I know is that whatever I do, I want to work with people. I am not very shy. I am bubbly, and I love meeting new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come know it is the only true church of Jesus Christ. It is so much more than a religion. It is who you are, how you think, and how you act. Some people see the things we do as "restricting" by the worlds standards, but really it is the most liberating religion! I love the Book of Mormon. I know it is true because I can feel the truth of it as I read. I have found so many answers to my prayers by reading the scriptures. One of the best feelings is when you are hearing another person bare their testimony and they say the same thing that you have a testimony of. When this happens, the Spirit testifies that what we know is true. I love the message of hope that the gospel brings. It is not a church of perfect people, but of imperfect people trying to be better and become as our Savior. I am so grateful for the Atonement, and I have a testimony of it. I cannot imagine trying to live my life perfectly and being so devastated when I mess up, because I mess up a lot! Repentance is real and powerful. I know I have a Father in Heaven who loves me beyond my comprehension. I am his daughter! If I ever have a problem I can pray and receive peace and strength. There is nothing I can go through in this life that my Savior has not felt. That is so comforting to me because sometimes I am certain no one understands how I feel, but He does. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel to the earth and translated the Book of Mormon. I know we have a prophet today, even Thomas S. Monson. He receives personal revelation every day about how to run the church and how to help people. I love him and am so grateful for all he sacrifices. I know that families can be together forever. I do not understand how sometimes, especially when it seems to me that my family is so broken. But I know my Heavenly Father knows, and that's good enough for me. I am a Mormon because I would not even want to think of my life without the gospel. I know it. I live it. I love it!

How I live my faith

I actively attend church each Sunday. I love it! I currently do not have a calling right now. I am preparing to go on a mission. I have received my call, and I couldn't be more excited. I attended seminary (gospel/ scripture class provided by the church) all through high school. I really enjoyed it. It was the place where I really came to know my Savior. I went on a medical mission to Ecuador with a group of people from our local hospital. It was the most incredible trip I have ever been on. I was able to serve people who really needed help, and they always reacted back with such love and kindness. My testimony grew as I learned to love these people as well. I love serving. It is such a great opportunity to get my mind off of myself and my problems and help others. I can feel my Savior's love for both myself and the person I am serving when I go out of my way to preform an act of kindness. I love the scriptures. I read them every day. They give me strength and guidance in this often dark and scary world. I know they are the words of God, and I am so grateful to have them!

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Danielle
We need a Savior because we are imperfect. In order to return to our Father in Heaven, we need to be cleansed from sin. Jesus Christ was chosen to be the Savior from the beginning and lived a perfect life while here on Earth. Therefore, He was able to perform the Atonement for all man kind. The Atonement allows us to repent and change. Through repentance we can be forgiven and be able to return to our Heavenly Father. Christ not only suffered for our sins and misdeeds, but for every sorrow, trial, pain, and sickness we can ever experience in this life. The knowledge of the Atonement and of my Savior gives me peace because if nothing else, I know that He always knows what I'm going through. Show more Show less
