Hi I'm Kelly

I will soon serve a mission for the Church in Houston, Texas. I love to sing, work hard and have fun! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church in Houston, Texas. My job is to teach people about Jesus Christ and how families can find eternal happiness through His gospel. The most important people in my life are my family. My siblings and I enjoy spending time together outdoors, playing catch, skiing, swimming and going to baseball games. My mom and I enjoy cooking and shopping together and my dad and I enjoy discussing politics and being outside. We love to be together! When I return from my mission I hope to continue to attend Brigham Young University- Idaho. As I look toward my future, I hope to marry a faithful member of the Church in the temple and raise a faithful, happy family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church because the Holy Ghost has bore witness to me that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ. I have been born into a family with faithful parents who taught me right from wrong and how I can receive blessings from obeying the commandments of God. I have learned that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. He has given us temples, where we can make covenants and receive ordinances to live together eternally in families. I know that if I am faithful I can receive all of the blessings of the temple and be with my family past, present and future forever. I read the Book of Mormon for the first time by myself when I was 12 years-old. Reading and praying about the Book of Mormon has helped me to develop my testimony that Jesus Christ is the Savior. I know that He is the only one who understands us perfectly because He has suffered for each of our sins. When I study the Book of Mormon, I find answers to my personal questions. I believe that God inspired men to write and translate this book so that people living today could use it as a guide to return to live with Him. Most importantly, I am a Mormon because I have peace and joy in my life when I strive to live God's commandments I am comforted to know that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and understands my weaknesses and insecurities. He has given us a prophet on the earth today that leads and guides us. The church gives us a great opportunity to serve each other and by doing so, serve God!

How I live my faith

Before my mission, I had a great opportunity to be involved in my youth groups and serve in various positions that helped me understand how best to serve others and help them feel welcomed and cared for. As a college student I frequently used prayer to help me set priorities and to be successful in my school work and other responsibilities. I learned how important it is to put the Lord first; I did this by studying the scriptures and praying every morning. It is amazing the difference these habits make on your attitude and outlook on the day. Everything seems to fall into place. This practice made seemingly impossible tasks easier and I still found time to maintain friendships and attend activities. I am now a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This means that I devote all of my time for the period of 18 months to studying the scriptures, teaching and finding people who are interested in learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
