Hi I'm Rebekah

I love being creative, and using my imagination. I love being happy! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

One of my favorite things about myself is my imagination. By nature, I'm an artist. I love creating and color. I enjoy going on adventures, exploring and learning about the intricacies of the world around me. I love spending time with my brothers and sisters. I believe everyone deserves Kindness; you can be just the thing someone is needing that day!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up attending services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I didn't always know, like I do now, that this is God's Church. In my childhood, I believed it was true because I trusted my parents. As I grew older, I realized I couldn't just lean on that belief; that I had to decide for myself what I really believed. I began at the foundation of everything: Did I believe in God? I took one look at the world around me and knew, without a shadow of doubt, it was true. I know God is there. I also looked back on my life and saw that He loved me. There were so many times (too many to just be a coincidence) that something happened that I felt had come from a loving God. He knew me. When I'm feeling my lowest He gently reminds me that He's there for me through ways He knows I'll recognize. Experience has taught me to recognize the feeling of His love for me. So, trusting God, (knowing He would do all He can to help me), I knelt and asked Him in prayer whether The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true. I didn't see angels, or hear a voice, but I felt that quiet assurance I've grown to recognize as God speaking to me. I know this is His gospel; it is His church. I am so grateful to have the knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life; I know that's why I can be so happy!

How I live my faith

Currently, I am serving as a full-time missionary. As a missionary, I have devoted all my time and attention to serving the Lord, through helping His children to have opportunities to hear the gospel. Every morning we have time set aside to study from the scriptures. I love that time because it helps me to better understand God's plan for His children and His love for us. I'm gaining an even greater love for Jesus Christ because I represent Him, as a missionary. I do as He would do if He were here; I am to be His hands. I feel a great love for the people I meet and work with and I know that it is because He loves them. Service is a big part of my life; every moment I am looking for opportunities to lift someone else and help them be happy!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are basically like other Christian woman. We love service and building others up. I love the women's organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of how it helps and encourages us to reach our potential. There's a really great video on the Mormon Channel on Youtube that depicts perfectly how we are. It's called "Daughters of God". (Or you can watch it here: https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2012-01-015-daughters-of-god?lang=eng It's really good!) Show more Show less
