Hi I'm Mike

I was born in Wyoming and grew up in Taylorsville, Utah. I like to fly power kites . I am a Mormon

About Me

I love the outdoors, river rafting, hiking, biking, fishing, camping, received the "Silver Beaver", skiing water and snow, power kiting, photography, seeing and playing with my grandchildren, hearing from my missionary son in Argentina, going on Trek, gardening, reading, shooting, watching my children grow into Most Excellent disciples of Christ, remodeling, dates with my wonderful wife.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and my conversion to the principles taught within the Church came line upon line and precept upon precept. My experience as a missionary in North Carolina provided the foundation that I have built on for many years. As I have witnessed, with my own eyes, the blessings that come into the lives of those who have embraced the principles taught in the Church and strive to keep the Commandments of our Savior Jesus Christ as he admonished us to do. He is the More Excellent way we have been given to make our way through mortality as we prepare for the eternities ahead. The ways of the World will continue to be more and more foreign to those who choose our Savior's way.

How I live my faith

I have served in many positions in the Church and I am currently serving as a Stake President in a Most Excellent Stake in West Valley City, Utah. I have served in various positions in the Church and enjoy working with the youth in the Church. I have organized a "Pioneer Trek" and participated in three of them over a 12 year period of time. I have also organized a "Stake" scout camp to the beautiful Teton High Adventure Camp in the Jackson, Wyoming area. I have a deep and abiding testimony of the truthfulness of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I strive daily to live my life in accordance with the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ. Being a member of the Church constantly gives me opportunity to serve and help others, in fact, that is what the Church is all about, helping our brothers and sisters return to our heavenly home.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries are called to share the "Good News" or the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all, just as Jesus Christ sent his disciples to share the Gospel. As one embraces the truths of the Gospel and strives to keep the commandments, their life has meaning, not only now, but into eternity. As the missionaries serve, they develop a great love for those whom they serve and when their "mission" is over, they look back at that time of service as some of the most rewarding and satisfying times of their lives because of the opportunity they had been given to share, what they know to be true, with their brothers and sisters around the world.
