Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in Southern California, I love board sports and being outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After finishing my freshman year of college, I set aside two years to serve a full-time mission in Oaxaca, México, where I currently am now. I love to do anything and everything outdoors, especially when I'm with my family and friends. I have been windsurfing since I was 4 years old, and I have also grown up snowboarding, surfing, longboarding, skating, mountain biking, pole vaulting, running, and hiking. I am interested in alternative energies like nuclear, solar and wind energies, and hope to one day help improve these technologies.

Why I am a Mormon

My life has been extremely blessed by following the teachings of Jesus Christ, and having faith in Him. Growing up I was always taught the standards of the Mormon faith, but I never really found the need to question them. As a grew to adolescence, I became more independent and wanted to know for myself what I believed in and knew to be true. Through reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it, I came to know for myself that this church is true, and that the teachings contained within the Book of Mormon are true as well. I have found that by following the teaching of the church, I have been blessed with safety, security, peace, happiness, and in numerous other ways. I know that if I follow the teachings of the church and live my life in accordance with the teaching of Jesus Christ, that I can one day return to live with Him, my Heavenly Father, and my family forever.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example for those around me, and do my best to love everyone like our Savior, Jesus Christ, would. In Church I am part of the Sunday School Presidency, so I make sure all the teachers know what they should be teaching, and how to teach most effectively. This experience has been quite rewarding because together we can cater to the specific needs of the students and create lesson plans that are fulfilling to the students, as well as the teachers. I try to always be ready to help out with anything, be it for a church activity or for a community event, I do my best to get involved and lend my support.
