Hi I'm Mekenzie

I love to laugh, I'm a singer, I love to read, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I believe laughing can make any situation better. There's always humor in any mundane or difficult situation we find ourselves in- we just need to have the eyes to see it! I believe good music can heal the soul. Music has been a big part of my life growing up. I've sung for most of my life, and it's truly shaped who I am today. It taught me the principles of hard work, diligence, persevering, and that I can do anything if I put my mind to it, like hit that high C or hold a note for 10 measures! I believe reading a good book is a necessary part of any day. I love stories, and I love knowing other people's life stories. Once we know others' stories, we can begin to truly love them and help them. I went to Brigham Young University for a year before my mission, and I plan on returning when I get home. I have no idea what I want to major in or what I want to do with my life; only that I want it to be full of adventure, love, and laughter every day. I want to live all over the world and experience many different cultures. My family is one of the most important things to me. I have 2 crazy, beautiful, hilarious younger sisters that I adore. There's never a dull moment in my house!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-Day Saints, but I haven't always believed in it. I went through a rebellious stage as a young teenager, and dreaded having to go to church. It took me a couple of years, and some amazing spiritual experiences, to make me realize that this Church really is true. I have spent many days and nights praying about it, and I testify that it is true. I have no doubt about it. I am so much happier with the gospel in my life. I know that Christ lives and loves each and every one of us so much. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God- I have felt its words change my life for the better. The gospel is what helps me get through life's many challenges. I can't imagine having to live life without the hope and peace the gospel brings. I'm a Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true and I need the Savior in my life every single day.

How I live my faith

I'm currently dedicating 18 months of my life as a missionary for the church in the Texas Houston East Mission, Spanish speaking. This church has changed my life, and I desire nothing more than to bring the same happiness I have experienced to the people of Texas. I also live my faith by trying to make myself a better person every single day. I pray, read my scriptures, and try to reach out and help those around me. We can't become perfect disciples of Jesus Christ in one day, but as we try our hardest to make small improvements, we'll one day look back and be happy with the person we've become.
