Hi I'm Jacob Lyman

I'm a twin, I love to learn, I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been really active throughout my life. Along the way I've found a love for many different hobbies and interests. -I love the outdoors. I really enjoy rock climbing, horseback riding, skiing, hiking, and all kinds of sports. I did a lot of scouting, as well, and was able to achieve the Eagle Scout award, the highest award in scouting. -I enjoy reading and writing a lot! I discovered my passion for writing when I was in middle school, when I was about 11 years old. I was good at it and I thought it was fun. My favorite book is the Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo. I try to read it every summer during a vacation. -I can juggle up to 5 balls.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (otherwise known as “Mormons”) for many reasons. 1) I truly believe that it is God’s church here on earth and that it teaches the truth about who we are, where we came from, why we are here on earth, and where we will go after this life, along with many other eternal and valuable truths that bless families and individuals. 2) I’m a Mormon because I feel closer to God when I am. 3) I see real blessings now and in the future because I live as a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ and His life have blessed and changed my life in wonderful ways. I have seen how following His example, adhering to His teachings, and striving to perfect yourself in Him leads to true happiness and peace. It's something that is for all people and I'm very grateful that I have found it to be for me. About a month ago I finished my 25 month mission in the great country of Slovakia. There I did many things: I taught English for free, I helped people strengthen their family relationships and knowledge of their ancestors through family history and research, I served the communities of Nitra, Banska Bystrica, Zilina, Zvolen, and Trencin often, and, most importantly, I strove to teach people about and invite people to come unto Christ. It was a beautiful experience for me :). Now I'm home, working, preparing for school, dating, seeing friends and family, and pursuing my dreams. I strive my best to live a moral and righteous life as I go about my daily life and I continue to study the gospel, be a good person, try to be an even better person with each day, share the message of the gospel with others, and follow Christ :). P.S. I LOVE the scriptures :)
