Hi I'm Bev

I grew up in California, Japan, and Utah. I served a mission in Tokyo South Japan. I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I love to exercise! I love to go hiking, swimming and take pictures of everything. I love eating Japanese food, especially Tonkatsu. I am a mother of 3 Awesome boys and I have been married for almost 14 years to an amazing man who is so patient with all of my quirks...like being OCD :) I graduated from college about 4 years ago in Community Health. I hope to one day go back and get a Master's Degree. I thought I wanted to get a Masters in Public Health, but I also want to get a degree in Finance, Japanese or photography...or maybe all of them. My mom became a Mormon when she was 18. She said that after her mother had died of cancer, the LDS religion was the first she'd ever heard that she would see her mother again after this life. My dad became a Mormon when he was 14 years old. My parents met each other later at college. Although, they were members of this church they stopped going as frequently. When I was about 14 or 15 I became more interested in knowing if this Mormon Church was true. I began to study and pray more fervently and came to know for myself that it's true. There is a Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is our Brother and they love us. That is the greatest message, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and they love you. They know me and they know you. That changed me. Reading the Book of Mormon changed me and I have been going to Church each Sunday since.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't know if this Church was true when I was younger. I didn't want to go to Church if it wasn't true. Although I do not know every single thing about the Church, or every single Prophet that has ever lived here on this earth, I do know that this Church is true. I know this through the Holy Ghost. I know that if anyone will read the Book of Mormon and sincerely pray about it they will receive an answer too. Moroni 10:4-5 4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would aask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not btrue; and if ye shall ask with a csincere heart, with dreal intent, having efaith in Christ, he will fmanifest the gtruth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

How I live my faith

Right now I am the Primary President in my ward. The Primary President oversees the Children in the area of the Ward Boundaries. The Children are organized into Jr Nursery, Sr Nursery, Jr Primary and Sr Primary. Our ward has a lot of Children and it is one of the greatest callings to have. Me and my Presidency oversee roughly 150 children. Each Sunday we have the opportunity to teach them about Christ, the Bible, the Book of Mormon and other Scripture. I feel Heaven is close by when I am with these amazing Children. Their sweet spirits strengthen my Faith each Sunday.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons do regard the Bible as Scripture. As people read the Bible and Book of Mormon together they find that the Testimonies from each of the books compliments each other. Through reading both, our testimonies of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father are strengthened. Through reading both we receive a confirmation that Jesus lived, died and was resurrected for each person who has lived, and who is living now, and for those who ever will live on this earth.
