Hi I'm Barbara

I am a Mormon. And I love it.

About Me

I am the 3rd of 9 children. I grew up in Southern Arizona. I attended BYU after I graduated and obtained a degree in Elementary Education. I have not formally taught in a school, but I have used this degree many times in raising a family. I have volunteered in their school classes and have loved being a part of their education. We took our family to live in Scotland for a year so we could have an international experience together.. We loved getting to know this culture because it is where some of our heritage is from. I love doing things with my family. Especially playing games together and taking time to enjoy the mountains near us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this religion. I grew up with parents who were very active members of the church. My father told us one evening when I was about 10 years old, that we would have to know for ourselves if this church was true. I took him seriously and I began reading about Joseph Smith and listening more intently to the speakers at church. My prayers became more focussed and one day while I was reading the Book of Mormon, I felt the most beautiful feeling overcome me. I knew it was Heavenly Father telling me through the Holy Ghost that it was true. I felt that I had been given so much that I wanted to share this gospel with others. At the age of 21 I submitted my mission papers and served an honorable mission. We are so blessed to be able to feel the spirit time and time again as we make righteous choices and serve others. I know it is true and I am grateful to be a part of a church that bears the name of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In the Bible we read many stories about the Savior and how he lived his life. He served others and gave time and attention to those in need. I am trying to do the same as I raise a family and interact with those around me. There are so many people who are in need. We also start the day (pretty early) in our home with family scripture study and family prayer. I know that we will have Heavenly Father's blessing through out the day if we do this. We end our day with family prayer also and thank Him for our blessings and for His help through out the day.
