Hi I'm Alexa

I grew up in Utah. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Alexa! I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints currently training in the Missionary Training Center. I will be going to serve for 18 months in Cebu, Philippines, speaking Cebuano. I finished one year of college studying International Business. I love playing games with my family, singing, playing guitar, and hanging out with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up as a member of this wonderful church, and my family has been pretty strong most of my life. I've gone through periods of time when I didn't want to follow the standards in the Church, but no matter what, I've always come back to Jesus Christ. I love this Gospel more than anything! There is no greater joy that I've experienced than living by the standards set by this Church and by doing the things our Heavenly Father wants us to do. The knowledge this gospel brings gives me hope and more happiness than I could ever imagine. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is truly God's church on the earth today. I know we are all beloved children of our Heavenly Father, and He wants us to live with Him again. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior, and he suffered for our sins so that we may be forgiven. I know that He was crucified for us, and that He was resurrected so that we may also be resurrected one day. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth, President Thomas S. Monson, and that he is directed by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through the Holy Ghost. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God, and that it was translated by Joseph Smith through the power of the Holy Ghost. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and that he restored this wonderful Gospel on the earth. I know that families can be together forever if we keep covenants made in the holy temples of the Lord. I am so grateful for this knowledge and for the many blessings that come from being a member of this Church.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day through everything I do. I try to always have a positive attitude, serve those around me, and lift others up. I've had quite a few different positions in my church, and all of them have helped me live my faith better. Before coming on my mission, I helped to teach 1-1/2 to 2 year olds, which was so much fun! It is amazing to teach them about our Savior, Jesus Christ, and our Heavenly Father. We taught them through games, pictures, music, and many other ways. I've also been in charge of all the women in one of the wards I lived in. At one point I was leading about 120 women, which was definitely hard work! Through serving those remarkable women, I was able to better understand our Heavenly Father's love for each of us, and I was able to come closer to my Savior.
