Hi I'm Justin

I grew up in So California. I live in Bentonville, Arkansas. I am working my way towards my mission. I, am a Mormon.

About Me

Some of my hobbies are, I love traveling around the country, been to 43 states, and a country...Mexico. I like to draw in pencil mostly, but I also like to paint with oils and acrylic paints. I also enjoy water colors, pastels, among other forms of art. I love to cook and bake in my home kitchen and make up my own recipes. I always love to cook or bake for other people, family and friends. I enjoy biking out on trails and hiking as well. I like most things outdoors. I like to canoe, haven't done kayaking yet, but would like to try it. I love to swim, go fishing, camping, boating. I always love to tell people, to have a good day and give them a smile, before they depart from me. I am not currently going to college, yet, but I am preparing mostly for my mission and I will go wherever the Lord will send me. I know He will send me where I am most needed. My name is Justin Whitney and I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life, although I have not always been active in the Church. I grew up in different households at different times in my life and it was difficult to stay active. Most of the time when I was with my mom, I would go to the Church, but if I was with my grandma or my dad, which were not members, I would not go, but sometimes would find myself going and exploring other faiths, which in the long run gave me an open mind, but I still believed in the Mormon faith. Up until I was 23, I was barely active in the Church. Beginning in October 28, 2012, I became fully active in the Lord, Jesus Christs' Church and I have never been more happier than I am now. I am most grateful to be where I am now. I am involved in my church activities, my church classes and I go to church regularly on every Sunday, to celebrate the Sabbath day. Also I actively go out with the missionaries every chance I get. I love to sing praises to my God, my King and share Gospel lessons with those who are new at church and also those who I interact with outside of church. I want to testify that through heartfelt prayer and diligent scripture reading of the Book of Mormon, the Lord does answer your prayers and through my trials I have had to go through to get where I am today, I have witnessed that becoming humble before the Lord and staying that way in all your troubles, His strength will get you through all of your hardships, but also that you must be patient. Patience is not one of my strengths, but He helps me ever so much along the way. Charity, though is a gift from the Lord that I do have strength in and the want to help others in the same trials I have gone through, so that they may have peace of mind and to move on to better serve their Lord and Savior, is a strong goal of mine. I am thankful that the Lord has loved me so much to want to care for my well being and to want me to strengthen my Faith in Him, so that I am able to become a powerful source of good for Him.

How I live my faith

I love doing service projects, for those who are either able or unable to do so for themselves. I love the feeling I get when I am helping others and sharing the love of Christ I have and know with them. I am always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs it, whether it be to help them move something or even to talk to them about something. I also go on what is called exchanges with the Missionaries, which is when they have an appointment to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to someone, they will have someone accompany them to help them or also for me, to learn more about what my mission will be like. I love going out with the missionaries and learning more about the Gospel, plus I get to know someone new every time. I am also called to serve as a Family History Consultant, which means I help people search for there family history and help them with there genealogies. I love doing this kind of work, because it is very rewarding when you find relatives you never knew of. Also you get to know and learn stories about your ancestors, that you may perhaps never knew before. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I am more than happy to be a member of this beautiful Kingdom of God, and desire to share that with all. This is only a little bit of how I live my faith and I am humbled to be a Mormon.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

This actually nails it right on the door. However, I have some further knowledge of this topic...I a have a quote given by one of our Apostles...whom said this: For some all is not complete in moral life, for marriage and a family of their own have passed them by. But the great plan of happiness and the laws which govern it continue after death. Watched over by a kind and loving Heavenly Father, they will not, in the eternal pattern of things, be denied blessings necessary for their exaltation, including marriage and family. And it will be sweeter still because of the waiting and longing... -- Elder Boyd K. Packer Show more Show less
