Hi I'm Sarah

I am 24 years old, a newlywed, and a ballroom dancer. I love music, sewing, and learning new skills. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music and dance. I played the flute in junior high, joined the choir in high school, and danced with the ballroom team in college. Ballroom classes were even where I met my husband, and we love to dance together! My studies in college focused around family life, which is very important to me. I am the oldest of 9 children (yes, nine) and am loving being a mother of a young son of my own. I can't wait to teach my children about the things I love such as music and crafting, but most importantly I look forward to teaching them about Christ and His gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the LDS (Mormon) church and have chosen to remain a member because I have felt the Spirit testify to me that its teachings are true. There was not one singular moment that gave me this knowledge, but every time I read the scriptures (particularly the Book of Mormon), listen to our church leaders, or attend a church meeting, I feel a sense of peace and know that it is right.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I go to church, where I currently help teach the children ages 18 months to 3 years. I really enjoy helping them learn about our Savior and what He taught. I especially love watching them learn the songs. I also make my faith a part of my everyday life during the week. I read the scriptures and pray every day, and strive to make my home a place where the Spirit of God can be felt at all times.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

We generally dress in our Sunday best for church services to show respect for the Lord when we go to worship Him. For most people this is suits and ties for men and modest dresses/skirts for women. The main religious holidays we celebrate are Christmas and Easter just like most Christian churches, and we also celebrate the national holidays that are specific to the country in which we live.
