Hi I'm Mario Garcia

I love music, southern food, saying LEGIT, and I'm loving being a Tennessee Knoxville missionary. You better believe I'm Mormon!

About Me

Well... You could say I was a simple man since I was raised in a little town in the mountains called Richfield in the Southern/Central part of Utah. You could also call me a foreign man since I was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I was there for two years, from the time I was born to the tender age of two years old! I come from a family of four, my Mother, my two younger sisters, and me! Currently, I am serving as a missionary in the Great Tennessee Knoxville Mission! I am serving in the Morristown, Tennessee area, I'm excited to be able to serve here again! A little more about me... Hmm, I just love to do a lot of things. In High School I played soccer and swam competitively! I also played a bit of tennis and football. I enjoy playing Basketball, Water Polo, and going paintballing, hiking, camping, four-wheeling, and riding around on a skateboard even though I'm no pro! I was a lifeguard at the pool in Richfield, so I was living the dream! I also lifeguarded when I went to Snow College, where I played Jazz Music. I play the drumset, acoustic and electric guitar, and the upright and electric bass! I absolutely love music and my favorite band is the Beatles, they are the best!!! I plan to go back to college after the mission and get a degree in Audio Engineering if I can be smart enough to do it! If I'm lucky you'll see me playin' live here in a few years! Oh, and I'm Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

Well, being born into the church, I've always been Mormon, just doing the Mormon thing, and as I got older, I still went to church and did what I was supposed to do. To be honest, it didn't really mean much to me. There came a time though, where my faith was tried, I said a prayer, and got an answer. Step #1 on getting my testimony, having enough faith in my Heavenly Father to pray and believe that I would get an answer. Since then, I've begun serving a mission and am currently on the last couple of months of my mission. My testimony has been getting stronger since day 1 out here and now, looking back over my life, I've seen the blessings from living the gospel and how it's brought me to where I am today. I've seen where Heavenly Father has put people in my life to help me get here, and I'll be forever grateful for them.

How I live my faith

I was taught while I was being raised that I should respect and love everybody. I haven't been perfect at it, but I know that being Christlike is the best way to live what I believe. It takes a lot of effort and I don't always pull it off, but I know that as I try to do what Christ would do, I gain more appreciation and love for Him and what He did. The best way that I know of in which I've lived my faith is serving a mission. I have had the opportunity to grow closer to God and the Lord Jesus Christ. I've learned so much about who they are, the love that They have for us, and I think I understand God's plan for us much better than ever! I live my faith by first trying to make myself a better person, and then helping other people get their too! I love seeing people live up to their full potential!!

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Mario Garcia
Well, since we were created in out Heavenly Father's image, that means He's got to have a body that looks like ours. Of course His is perfect and immortal with no problems, so that is where it differs from our bodies. We also believe that we are His children and that he loves every single one of us unconditionally, so His love for you will never end, EVER! Since we're His children, He wants wants what best for us and would like us to have everything that He does, and most of all, He wants us to be happy, so God created a plan to help us find happiness in this life and to prepare ourselves to return to live with Him! He sounds like a pretty good father to me! Show more Show less
