Hi I'm Hannah

I go to The University of California - Irvine, I love to Outrigger, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am daughter and a sister. I have one older brother, 4 years my senior, and I live with my mom at home. My dad lives about an hour away. I just finished my first year of college and I love it. Since I was in Elementary School I have enjoyed being apart of an outrigger group and racing with them. I ran Track and Field and Cross Country in High School. I am an active person and I am just learning how to cope with a busy schedule.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church so I know a lot of people think I stay in the church because its how my mom raised me or because its all I've ever known. For a while when I was younger this was true. I relied on my mom's testimony most of the time and eventually I wanted to know why she believed in the church. I had my doubts as a preteen and started to search the scriptures more diligently. Slowly my testimony began to grow as I asked Heavenly Father more questions and as I looked to him for confirmation in difficult decisions. It was a bit difficult in the beginning to discern whether my questions were being answered. Eventually I began to recognize the spirit's confirmation and with time, the warmth and comfort it provides when truth is presented became so distinct to me. Now I know that this church is true and its where I am supposed to be and I am so glad that my mom was converted to the gospel.

How I live my faith

One principle that has stayed with me since I was little is "Choose The Right" or CTR. Many people have necklaces or rings with CTR as an engraved inscription. Its simple Choose The Right. I say this in every one of my prayers to remind myself to be a good example and to lead a Christ like life. Then through my teen years I learned through "The Strength of Youth" pamphlet how to be a good example and up hold my believes. These standards have really improved my life and have helped me see through the pretenses of the media. In high school and college we have scripture study classes that help us understand more about the lessons in The Bible and The Book of Mormon. To learn about our prophets and what they had to endure, especially Job, has made me grateful for what I have and has made it easier to deal with the stress of academics.
