Hi I'm Kharyssa

I grew up in Utah. I was born into the LDS religion, but was converted in my heart! I am a Mormon! :)

About Me

I come from a very large family, and I love it. My family has done Foster Care for about 14 years, we have adopted 3 children! I love my siblings as if they had been born into my family, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to be a big sister. I have played many roles in my family, such as the youngest, the oldest and the middle child. At times I think it can be hard to see things as a blessing, but because of all the positions I have had in my family I can understand things with a new or different perspective. I can easily relate to many different circumstances people have been through. I think that at times when we feel alone it's nice to know that someone else understands where you come from, because they have experienced similar things. Some of my favorite things to do are play sports (especially football, Thanks to my dad I can throw a pretty nice spiral), go horse back riding, dance, watch the sky in all of it's many forms (when it rains is probably my most favorite). My favorite color is red, because it has so many meanings (love, passion for things you care for, strength, and it's bold) It reminds me to be steadfast and immovable. One thing I really enjoy is getting to know new people. We live in a beautiful world with billions of people, and each person has a story to tell of who they are and how they came to be that person! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this religion, my parents were already members of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints. As a youth growing up in the church, I was taught how to love one another, treat others the way I wanted to be treated, that I am a child of God and I have specific purpose here on this earth. I was taught in a way that if I had a question I was given suggestions on where I could find my answer, as a younger child at the time I was somewhat frustrated because I just wanted the answer, I didn't want to work to find it. Looking back at all of these things, I cherish them and the examples I had. However I didn't always feel this way, I took those things for granted. I had the answers in front of me, but because I was stubborn and hard headed I chose to borrow others light and testimony because I thought It was easier. I was wrong. Even those who have been born into this religion still need to be converted. I hit a point where I wondered what I was doing with my life and I needed direction. After studying the atonement, scriptures and remembering those things I had learned in my youth. I knew I needed to pray for guidance and to know where I needed to be. He helped me feel peace in my heart and comfort in knowing the truth. I know that this is His gospel, the only true church on this earth, with the proper authority and restored fullness in this dispensation. We all can come unto Christ, and through the power of the atonement be healed. He knows and loves each and every one of us personally and individually. It is our responsibility to put the work in to find what we are looking for! I know that if we do this with a sincere heart, He will bless us individually and help us see the truth. I have my own light and testimony, that I strive to use to help others find their own. "If any of ye lack wisdom, let him ask of God..." James 1:5

How I live my faith

I have served in many positions within the church, I have been the Young Women's president, first/second counselor, and secretary. We have done many service projects for the people in our community, and other areas in our community (ex: clean parks, helped those in need, 10 hour projects in serving others). I have volunteered as a teacher in the Primary many times, the youth have so much excitement for learning. It is a beautiful reminder to have such wonder and faith in small and simple things. I have also substituted in the nursery, these young children grasp so many concepts through our example, it has been a privilege to work with them. I am currently preparing to serve as a full-time missionary! I am so excited to have the opportunity to share my testimony with others continually for eighteen months and help them find their own! :)
