Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in Pennsylvania. I'm a writer and editor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, write, sing, and play tennis. I studied English, Art, Music, and Education for my Bachelors Degree at BYU-Idaho; where I met my amazing husband. I'm in a Masters program for Popular Fiction Writing in the Young Adult genre. I am very creative and artistic and I love to create things that people enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't always Mormon. I was raised hard-core Roman Catholic in a tight knit family. When my parents divorced, the Catholic church wasn't so welcoming or supportive. My family fell apart, and for years the only thing that kept me going was music. When I was 18, I met the LDS missionaries and had to defend them when they were accosted right in front of my house. After I talked with them, I felt a peace that I had never experienced before. Within a month, I was baptized and a new member of the LDS Church. Life has not been easy since then, but it's been worth it. My family disowned me, I was kicked out a week before I graduated high school with only $32 in my account. I traveled across country all by myself to work on a ranch and go to college. I met my husband in a class I never intended to take, and was diagnosed with PTSD. I've never felt such sadness, but I have never experienced such joy. I know that if this gospel was not true, I would not be alive today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through example. It's hard and sometimes goes against the grain of my personality, but it is rewarding to show others what "living the faith" is all about.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Before I was a member of the LDS Church, I had uncontrollable anger issues. I'm pretty sure if The Hulk was real, it would've been me. My faith put everything in perspective and I was able to control myself, my words, and my actions. I was raised with no respect for marriage. But I learned that simple truth can erase years of negative conditioning. Because of our faith in Jesus Christ, my husband and I have an unbreakable bond. A bond that I believe in. Because of my faith, I grew to be the best friend that I could possibly be. I have an eternal perspective that helps through tough times, when before I was LDS, not even my anger could help. I am a more positive person because of my faith. You feed more bees with honey instead of watching them choke on vinegar. Show more Show less
