Hi I'm Katie

I'm a daughter, sister, and a friend. I'm a redheaded flautist. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I LOVE MUSIC. I have had several music callings in church for years. I really enjoy the feelings and testimonies that the Spirit brings through worthy music. I am a flute performance major, and I have taught piano and flute lessons since high school. I also love composing, especially for Church services. My parents are very smart and talented, and I am so blessed to be their daughter. My 5 younger siblings are an inspiration to me, and we have a lot of fun together. I could not have asked for a better family. I love them all very much. As a side note, I love spontaneity and clean fun. And chemistry! I would probably work in a chemistry lab all day if it weren't for music. Also, becoming fluent in a foreign language is one of my big bucket-list goals.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS Church, so it would be easy to think that I don't have a choice whether or not to be Mormon. Quite the contrary, however, being a Latter-day Saint is entirely my decision. I have based that decision on several testimonies: 1. Jesus Christ, the son of our Father in Heaven, atoned for my sins and lives today. 2. The Book of Mormon is true. 3. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God through whom Christ restored His church, including the Priesthood, for these last days. 4. We have continuing revelation through a living prophet and living apostles on the Earth today. 5. Families are eternal, and they can be together forever through the sacred ordinances in God's holy temples. I know these things to be true because I sought out the truth through prayer and scripture study, and the power of the Holy Ghost testified to me that they are true. I am eternally grateful to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so far from being perfect, but I can still feel His love for me. I know He helps me up every time I fall down. I know His grace has made me stronger and is still strengthening me, turning me into the person He knows I can be. I live my faith by sharing my beliefs with my friends and coworkers. I will also be serving a full-time mission in Mexico for 18 months soon. I live my faith by spending as much time as I can with my family. I live my faith by fulfilling my callings as a church pianist and children's class (aka Primary) pianist.
