Hi I'm Stefanie

I am a Mormon. I have been a Mormon all of my life... and I wouldn't want it any other way.

About Me

I was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - a Mormon. I am married with 5 children. Four sons and one daughter. Growing up, I liked to play tennis and do anything active. I played on my high school team and then when I got married, I played league tennis for quite a few years. My son's all love sports and we always loved watching them. Our daughter plays tennis and I am able to travel with her to tournaments and spend quality time with her. We love doing family activities. We love to travel, watch movies, hike, go on walks and just spend time together. It's hard for me having our children grow up and be on their own. We have one son who is married now and they live in Washington D.C. Our second son is attending school at BYU Hawaii. Our third son is attending BYU in Provo and our fourth son is serving an LDS mission in the Scotland/Ireland Mission. Our daughter is with us in Tampa Florida where my husband Mark, is a mission president in the Florida Tampa Mission for the Church. We will be here for 3 years.

Why I am a Mormon

This church makes me happy. Some people we meet who are not part of our religion, think that there are so many restrictions for Mormons. I feel it is just the opposite. The commandments and council given in the scriptures and by our church leaders aren't restrictions. Living the commandments, keeping the Word of Wisdom and doing what Christ would have us do, brings freedom and ultimately the most happiness. Everything that is taught in this church is for the betterment of mankind. I was taught by good parents to be a good person, to love others and treat them with respect and kindness. I am not perfect and have certainly made mistakes, but because of the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven and move on. The Atonement is for everyone. I love that my Heavenly Father knows who I am and loves me. He blesses me daily and I love knowing that He is there.

How I live my faith

Our four sons have served missions and helped take the message of this gospel to the people in France, Brazil, Madagascar and Scotland/Ireland. My husband, daughter and I now have the opportunity to help share this incredible message with the people in Florida. Where ever I go, I try to set a good example. I try to do what I think Christ would do. We attend our church meetings each Sunday and try to do things on the Sabbath day that are different from what we do every other day of the week. We try to follow the commandment of keeping the Sabbath day holy. When our children were growing up, we had scripture study every morning, Family Home Evening once a week and personal scripture reading/study each night. I have had the opportunity to serve in many capacities in the church; Primary Presidencies, Sunday School teacher, Nursery leader, Cub Scout leader, president of the Young Women's organization, counselor in the Relief Society and Visiting Teacher.
