Hi I'm L'Rey

I'm from New Zealand. I'm studying to be a Mechatronic engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a second year university student studying Mechatronic engineering. I have recently received my call to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Philippines Urdaneta mission. My sister is already serving her mission there so it's a great blessing to be in the same area as her. I have a big family who spend every spare minute together. I have ten nieces and nephews who I love and take up all my time. We all love sport. Each of us have represented New Zealand and local areas in a variety of sports such as basketball, sprinting, netball, touch and rugby. I am super excited for the honor to serve as missionary and can not wait to get out there!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church and have been raised by goodly parents. However, there came a time when I wanted to know what my parents knew. So when I was eleven I took the challenge by the Prophet Gordon B Hinckley to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. I remember praying and opening it each day trying my hardest to read and understand each word. When I finally completed it I said a prayer. With that prayer came feelings I would never forget. The spirit was so strong and testified that Heavenly Father was pleased with the thing I had done. From this I knew that the scriptures were true. That the prophet Joseph Smith did restore the fullness of the gospel upon the Earth. That he was called of God just like Gordon B Hinckley was called of God in our day and time. That God our Father and Jesus Christ our Savior live and love each and everyone of us. I know that they only want what is best for us. He lives! I know it and do not doubt it.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a ward missionary and teacher which has given me a great opportunity to prepare for my mission. I love to teach! Whether that be in the gospel or tutoring others in math and science... I love to teach. It's inspiring to see others learn, grow and progress.
