Hi I'm Abbey

I grew up in Salt Lake and am now preparing to serve a full time mission in Hamilton, New Zealand. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love trying new things just to have the experience. Some of my hobbies are riding my bike, painting, spinning wool, slacklining, meeting people, baking, playing the marimba and the piano, singing, hiking, camping, and reading. I love to read, especially religious material. In high school, I ran Cross Country, played Lacrosse, and played marimba in the percussion ensemble. I participated in Student Government for three years, including serving as Student Body Pres. I chose Student Gov. because I love getting to know new people. I served a mission in New Zealand where I learned to love the Maori people and island life in general!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ because of its simplicity. Anyone can understand His teachings and do their best to follow Him, which is all He asks of us. The LDS church has given me an opportunity to be with my family forever because we are sealed together in the temple. It has given me hope that even though I'm not perfect, Jesus Christ's atonement will make up for my imperfections. By following the teachings of the church, I have found peace and satisfaction in this life, and I know I will live with my family forever in happiness in the next life.

How I live my faith

I try to follow my Mom's example of making the most with what I have and where I am. I try to love my neighbors and always serve them in any way I can. I play the hymns in some of my meetings on Sunday and help out at girls' camp in the summer. I try to follow the spirit whenever it prompts me to go somewhere or do something. In this way I am consecrating my life to the building up of the Lord's kingdom here on the earth. I have found incredible blessings when I follow the Lord's will and try to listen to the spirit.
