Hi I'm Jack Simiskey

I am a Tennesse Titans, Houston Rockets, Pittsburgh Pirates, and BYU Cougars fan and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have three brothers and two sisters. Our parents are divorced but all of the kids that are still at home stay with my dad. I was born in Provo, Utah but I have lived in Texas since I was one. I love little kids and hanging out with them. I like pretty much any sport. I love the competition of sports. I am driven by competition. I particularly love football because that was the one I grew up around the most. That was something my dad and I would always do. We would either be watching football or throwing the ball outside with my younger brother. My dad is a lawyer and my grandfather is an engineer but if I had a choice of any career I would choose to be a football coach. I love to watch all sports and I have a different favorite team for each sport. When it comes to football I am a Tennessee Titans fan, for basketball I love going to see the Houston Rockets and for baseball I watch the Pittsburgh Pirates. I think if I was a coach I could not only enjoy what I was doing very much but influence athletes' lives for the better. I strive to be a positive influence on everyone I come in contact with.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that it is the only true and complete gospel on this Earth today. I have been blessed with many great people in my life that have helped me overcome early trials in my life and realize that living a righteous life by following the Prophet's advice and obeying the commandments of the Lord is the only way to a joyful life. I have fed off of all of the great testimonies of the people in my life until I finally took the challenge in Moroni and asked God through prayer whether the Book of Mormon was the word of God or not. It was that moment that the Holy Ghost told me that this was the true gospel of Christ. It was from then on that I knew that I would be a Mormon for the rest of my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my everyday life. I try my best every single day I wake up in the morning to be the best possible Saint I can be. It is hard most of the time but that is what I like about it that I constantly have to strive to be the best I can be. In order for me to live a righteous life I must do my daily scripture reading, prayers, and I like to write in a journal to help myself remember all the different things I learn at church or throughout my life and reflect upon how I lived my life each day. I go out with the missionaries to help teach inactive members or investigators of the church and I plan to go on a mission as soon as I can get my papers in and get my call. I love to serve others in any way possible and think there is no better way to spend my time than to be serving others. I know that God will bless anyone who puts their faith in him so I make it a point to put Him first in everything that I do.
