Hi I'm Zachary Mortensen

I'm a missionary, a semi-pro snow-mobiler, a rapper, a musician, a snowboarder, and...Mormon.

About Me

Whaddup! I am Zachary, serving as a missionary for the church in Lubbock, Texas. I am a musician by trade and a snowmobiler by passion. I can play (and read the music for) piano, guitar, drums, and I sing... and rap- I made myself an EP while in high school which was sweet. I am also a semi-pro snowmobiler from Idaho, so that is what I am looking forward to doing when I get home. I love the cold and the outdoors and everything that involves the two. Family and friends are HUGE for me- I wouldn't be anywhere near the man that I am today without them. I live my life with the usual 20 y.o. care-free abandon that anyone has after high school, but you know what they say... we're just young and wreckless. I love basically anything fun, you name it, I've tried it... drifting, cliff jumping, snowboarding, skateboarding, longboarding, anything with wheels/engine I'm on it. I live life on the edge like I've got two years to live because this life is supposed to mean something and I intend on living my life like I know the Lord has told me to.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member because of the way I am able to live my life in this Church. They value agency and moral standards and respect them as a way of life, which is something I have not seen as prevalent and available in other churches. They allow you to live your life as you best see fit, while preparing for the day of being able to come into the Master's presence. Ultimately, they let you live your life on the pursuit of happiness and give you the resources to come into God's kingdom. That's why I joined- because they let ME live MY life. I am grateful for the changes that it has brought into my life and the opportunities it has given me. In other words, it has forever changed my life and ultimately brought me more happiness than I ever thought possible. so I'm no longer pursuing happiness, I'm living and enjoying it.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full-time 2 year proselyting mission for the church in Lubbock, Texas. I love sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others as an ordained minister of the Restored Gospel. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to serve!
