Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and was born of goodly parents. My family had grown a habit of having regular scripture study, and we were able to finish the Book of Mormon a few times. Because of this, I was able to pray and gain a testimony that it was true. When I bear my testimony, I have the reassurance that this gospel is true; I couldn't imagine my life without it. In my heart, I know this is where I'm supposed to be and that it's my responsibility to share this joy with others so that they too can come into the fold of Christ. I know that Heavenly Father lives and that he has a plan for each one of us. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and that only through Him are we able to be saved. The Holy Ghost is here to give us guidance and protection in order to achieve that goal. I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to set an example to others. I do not take the Lord's name in vain or use any other profanity to express my feelings. I like to look for every opportunity to serve those around me, whether it means to smile at someone or play the piano for a baptism. My current calling in the church is the Laurel Secretary and the Young Women Pianist, but that will soon change as I go off to BYU-Idaho in the fall of 2013. I enjoy sharing the gospel with my friends at school and have given a few Book of Mormons to them. I hope that people can notice the light I try to bring by dressing modestly, talking to lonely people, and working hard in everything I do. I am proud to be a Mormon.
