Hi I'm Trent

I'm a college student and a lover of the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the third oldest of four children; all members of the church. I'm studying mechanical engineering because from a young age I've always wondered how things worked and hope to one day be able to participate in future innovations. I love the outdoors and the activities of every season. One of my favorites is dirt biking, and for me it's one of the best ways to unwind from work, school or anything else. I also enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, boating and auto mechanics.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Mormon family, so from the beginning I've been taught to live the standards of the Gospel. As I've matured, however, my personal belief in God and the validity of the church have increased. I now know for myself that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and I know that through the Spirit, or how God makes me feel when praying or reading the scriptures (Bible and Book of Mormon). I also know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's true church. The Book of Mormon for me is the key to this certainty and I've received heavenly confirmation through prayer that it is the word of God. I'm a member of this church because it makes me happy. It also gives me direction--I'm at a point in my life where key decisions must be made, like a career path and starting a family. Understanding of God's plan has given me a larger perspective of life which allows me to set long term, and even eternal goals. I know that there is life after death and that we were with Him before birth. I know that along with the rest of mankind, I am a child of God, and he loves me.

How I live my faith

I do my best to center my life around Jesus Christ by living as he would have me live. I try to keep his commandments and treat others with love and respect, forgiving those who may do harm as well as standing up for what's right. Prayer, scripture study and church attendance are some of the more direct ways I worship, and on Sundays I participate in church by teaching a class on basic principles of the Gospel. I also served for two years in Argentina teaching the Gospel, which was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
