Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Harry Potter fan. I'm a student at Brigham Young University. I have five adopted siblings. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing (and used to be in an acappella group); I love to read; I love anything related to Harry Potter; I love to go on adventures, and I love dancing and playing in snow and rain. I am a student at Brigham Young University. I'm part of a family of nine: I have six siblings, one of which being my biological sibling and five of which being adopted. (Two of my adopted siblings were from the U.S. and three were adopted from Russia). I love my family!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have personally felt the peace, love, and personal guidance that comes from the Holy Ghost as I've sought God through the scriptures, prayer, church, and keeping God's commandments. I'm a Mormon because I believe in God! He lives and has restored His gospel to this earth through His latter-day messenger and prophet, Joseph Smith. People may say that Mormons have a lot of rules in their church, but that is one of the reasons why I love this church so much. I believe that following the standards, such as dressing modestly and appropriately, as well as staying sexually pure outside of marriage (just as some examples), protect me from negative consequences and help me feel clean and pure and invigorated about life. While these rules and standards can be hard to follow sometimes, it's 100% worth it to keep trying to live them. The gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints helps bring people to Christ and helps them become more like Him. I believe that if we all were to become more like Christ, we'd all feel more at peace and confident with ourselves, and we would have more love for each other. We would all also find life to be more fulfilling. And that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being willing to accept callings in my church. I used to be a chorister, but I have also been part of leadership committees for various age groups as a young woman. I am also about to begin my next big adventure of spreading the Gospel to those seeking God as I serve an 18-month mission in the Tennessee Nashville Mission.
