Hi I'm Talia

I love films, Zumba, and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I hope to travel the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student hoping to major in Media Arts and inspire others through film. I enjoy learning about world cultures and religions. Constantly, I am found singing, playing musical instruments, and dancing. March Madness is one of my favorite times of the year because I'm extremely competitive. While I love going to museums and cafés, my favorite place is the beach. Beginning in May 2014, I will serve a mission for 18 months in New York City, and I feel so excited and blessed for this opportunity.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I'm a Mormon all comes down to a book, The Book of Mormon. Considering I'm not a reader, this book must be pretty impressive. And it is! It is a sacred companion to the Holy Bible and contains the fullness of Christ's gospel. Every time I read from it, I feel uplifted, enlightened, inspired, motivated, and comforted. I'll admit, I had to read it cover to cover four times before I read it with real intent to feel its power. But I'm so grateful that I was patient with myself in receiving an answer if it is true or not. I cannot deny that "a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book" because I have experienced that. I know that following the teachings in the Book of Mormon helps me prepare to return my Heavenly Father's presence and become more like Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the little things (i.e. scripture study, prayer, service, repentance, etc.) daily. Honestly, some days, those things are more of a checklist. But hopefully most days, I do the little things with my heart, might, mind, and strength so it can bring me closer to my Heavenly Father.
