Hi I'm Nate

I am a world traveler and a commercial scale solar energy developer and I am Mormon

About Me

My parents instilled in me the desire to travel the world at a young age. By the time I was 13, I had been to 13 countries and most states. Fast forward to today and I have traveled to 48 countries and all 50 states. I am the 2nd oldest of 8 children and the first to serve a two year church mission (Germany). Four of my siblings subsequently served church missions to Russian speaking countries. I ran track in high school and college, which developed a good fitness foundation for me in the future. After graduating from college, I went on to get two additional degrees from law school (JD) and a master's degree in real estate. From there, I went into the renewable energy development industry. With my current employer, I've played an integral role in developing two of the largest solar farms in the world. I also enjoy reading non-fiction and writing and have been published a few times in magazines and on websites.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family valiant in living most gospel principles. Despite this, my affirmation of the veracity of the gospel happened after I left home. During my freshman year of college and during my 8 weeks in the missionary training center, I had the aggregate effect of listening to speakers, reading the Book of Mormon, and saying prayers on my own that provided me the overwhelming feeling that I am known and loved by my Heavenly Father. Even when I make mistakes (which is often), I feel a greater inner peace when I know that my life is alignment with the expectations of Heavenly Father. I believe that staying true to gospel principles will help someday in the development of an eternal family.

How I live my faith

The church has instilled in me the desire to make good decisions, be industrious and self-sustaining, honest, and balanced (physically, mentally, spiritually, and financially). The gospel gives me the perspective that the talents and blessings I have been given are merely under my stewardship. As such, I have a desire to share with and lift others that need support. Seeing the big picture allows me to stay calm in dealing with both unforeseeable and negative life's circumstances. Before I moved recently, I taught classes two Sundays per month in church.
