Hi I'm Colin

I am a Nebraskan. I am a college student. I love learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a small town in the midwest. I like to think of myself as someone who is humble, smart, a little, shy, but interested in what goes on around me. I love learning. The "hard" classes don't scare me, and I love being challenged in everything that I do. You could say that I am somewhat of a perfectionist. I am pursuing a career in law so I can help others and be a positive influence in the world. Even though there are lots of negative opinions of lawyers, I feel like they can play an important role in counseling those that need direction and defending ideals that stand in need of defense. School is a big part of my life, but in my free time I love reading, hanging out with my family/friends, and playing the piano, my favorite composer being Chopin.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon, but I have come to know that it is true for myself. For the past two years, I was a Mormon missionary teaching people in Tijuana, Mexico. We helped others learn about Jesus Christ and become members of the Church. I came to love Mormonism even more when I saw the effects that it had in the lives of the people I taught. People, whose lives lacked meaning, whose days were filled with sorrow, who just wondered why they were here on earth, found answers and a renewed purpose in life through the teachings of Jesus Christ. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many different ways. In my congregation I play the organ each week so that others can feel closer to God as they come to worship. Outside of Sundays, I read the Bible or Book of Mormon daily and pray in the morning after waking up and the evening before going to bed. I try to be attentive for others' needs and care for those that are having a hard time. Most importantly, in everything I do, I try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
