Hi I'm Heather

I used to be a bridge engineer. Now I engineer my home and my four kids. I LOVE my job and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sixteen years ago I made the best decision ever and married my husband. He loves his job and I love mine. We have four kids (that's my job). I love to workout. I always say that I am a much better mom when I leave the gym. I love to play the piano as well. I'm trying to pass this skill onto my kids. I am currently teaching three of them. I try to feed my family really well and learned to enjoy cooking when I started having kids. Feeding my family a variety of wholesome, nutritious food is important to me. I love helping at my kids' schools and try to do so regularly without going overboard. I'm a big fan of not being TOO involved. I treasure our family dinners together and time when we can just sit and talk. I love to read stories to my kids at night.....Oh - and I LOVE Costco! :-)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon by faithful parents. I grew up seeing their lives blessed by living the principles that are taught in our religion. Sometime in high school I received my own personal conviction of the truthfulness of the gospel. While attending a youth conference we were challenged to get down and our knees privately and pray....REALLY pray to know that what we believe is true. I did and was overcome with a powerful conviction that it is. I always knew that true happiness comes from living the principles of the gospel. Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to be happy. He has made it possible for our families to be together forever. My husband and I read the scriptures and pray daily with our children. We teach them right from wrong and set high standards for them. We know that if we live righteously we will someday return to our Father in Heaven. Our existence on this earth is such a small piece of our eternal existence. Trials will come and we don't always know why they do, but our loving Heavenly Father knows what is best for us. He will not give us more than we can handle and He will never leave us. I know that the happiness I feel in my life comes from doing what is right and by being an instrument in His hands by serving others.

How I live my faith

I work in the children's organization for our church. It is a fun place to be on Sunday. We have amazing teachers and amazing kids. I am priveledged to work with them and learn from them. There are a few ladies in our congregation who myself and one other woman are personally responsible for checking in with, teaching, supporting and helping in any way we can. There are two women in our congregation who also visit me each month. It is a great program called Visiting Teaching. Everyone is looking out for each other. I also play the piano for our church choir. It is such a blessing to have this responsibility. It helps me find time to play!
