Hi I'm Thane

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been a member since being baptized when I was 8.

About Me

I grew up in a small ranching community. Some of my most poignant and fondest memories were created there working with my family. My family, community and ward members are wonderful people who have always helped and encouraged each other. This was a special place to grow up and grow a testimony. My wife grew up on a farm and feels very much the same about her upbringing. We met while going to college about 1 year after my mission. We are blessed to have 5 beautiful children. We are grateful to live in a community that has values and traditions similar to those that we each grew up with. We enjoy doing most anything together as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 8 years old. I remember having a testimony of the Gospel that early in my life. This testimony came to me through going to church and learning to feel the Holy Ghost while in my primary classes and Sacrament meetings with my family. My parents and family are great examples to me of how to believe in and live the teachings of Jesus Christ. I went to one year of college prior to being old enough to serve a mission. This was a time for me to build my testimony and prepare to serve. During my preparation, I learned that I had a lot of growing spiritually to do. I learned that I had to rely more on my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ in my life. While on my mission, I was able to use my own testimony in order to help and serve others. I continue to strive to build this testimony stronger today. I am a Mormon because I have come to know the truthfulness of these things for myself. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and each one of us. He loves us so much that He provided a Savior. He provided His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ as our Savior to come here and show us how we can each overcome all there is to overcome in this life and return to live with them and our eternal families someday.

How I live my faith

My greatest satisfaction and joy in life has come to me by being involved in serving my family and in callings in the church. It seems like my desire to serve comes as I learn about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know they love each one of us personally. I feel that they love me. My family, friends and neighbors have been great examples to me of how to help one another feel this love from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I have learned that day by day and sometimes small versus big acts of kindness towards each other are what helps the most in the strengthening and building each of our testimonies.
